Honest and provocative
"I saw Liberation for a second time and it was even better. I wanted to take my daughter - it is such an important subject and great for a mother daughter moment. The writing and acting are superb. And the staging and production amazing, the way characters seamlessly go in and out of character. I also appreciated the play’s attempt to deal with difficult subjects in the feminist movement like race and sexualmorientation."

A time to remember
"I truly enjoyed the entire production. The actors took us back to the time when we were hopeful about the movement and then brought us forward and reflective of how we each woman responded to it. Well done!! "

Great show!
"I thought the show was very thoughtful and informative of the roles that women play not only in 1970 but in contemporary culture. The acting was superb and the writing very insightful and funny. Highly recommend attending. Because of the nudity, I don’t think it would be recommended for children."

Progress in the eye of the beholder
"An interesting exploration of women’s issues that asks us to look back at what was achieved, and was it enough - personally? societally? "

This is a conventional drama with conventional dialogue
"This play was obvious . Nothing in the dialogue was surprising or revealing about the period that we didn't know already. it was a family drama about women who might be interested in liberation, get married and have children, no radical thinking. "

About Liberation

It's 1970: somewhere in Ohio, six women meet on a basement basketball court, determined to shake up their lives and change the world. Fifty years later, one of their daughters tries to understand where things fell apart. A provocative, wildly theatrical world premiere that poses vital questions about friendship, legacy, and the true meaning of liberation.
