It was worth the money and the travel
"I am not very familiar with Shakespeare's work, so I was not completely aware of what to expect. In my experience, it was slightly challenging to follow the storyline in the beginning. That was mostly because the people surrounding me in the balcony seats were chit chatting which was distracting and it made it difficult to hear the actors. I found the second half to be not just interesting but also exciting. I thought all the cast did an excellent job. Jake Gyllenhaal's role as the villain was intriguing. I found myself shaking my head at him as he delivered his evil deeds. Of course I was mesmerized by Denzel Washington's performance. He is an icon that did not disappoint in this role. It was a role that showed his diversity. I felt his humility shining through as he portrayed his character. At one point, it felt like he made eye contact with me as I was sitting in the audience. I am sure that is not the case, but its a nice thought. I feel very fortunate to have been a part of the audience. My early morning travel from Chicago to NYC and all the effort it took to get there that day was well worth it. I highly recommend this play (for mainly mature audience members)."
