great to see the best on stage...

"Being used to seeing the main protagonists acting on film, it was fantastic to see all of their skills brought to bear on stage. Stage acting requires so much physicality to convey the same understanding for the audience and to invoke the right emotions at the right time. Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal delivered in spades. Importantly they were very well supported by the rest of a great cast. I really enjoyed it. Luckily had great seats as the acoustics were not great, but this did not in anyway spoil the spectacle. "

In the presence of excellence

"Within moments of the curtains going up, the audience is greeted with Jake’s presence on stage. Immediately, you can tell this is going to be an extraordinary show. But thennnnnnn, Denzel comes onto the stage and nothing can prepare you for that moment. Without a shadow of a doubt, you’ll know you’re in the presence of excellence. He commands the stage like no other and delivers his lines with such conviction, that I found myself holding my breath at times. The story is timeless and yet the modern twist was refreshing to see. I know tickets for this show are a luxury, but if you can budget for it, you won’t be disappointed. Will be worth every single penny … an experience that will stay a lifetime with you. "

Every second provided a new experience, with our leaning in, as we sat in the first 10 rows, orchestra. With a minimal set, we were able to focus on the acting itself. And, Denzel allowed us to see a bit of the Denzel we have come to love!...smile.>Even Jake made fun of Denzel's style/mannerisms as he mimicked Othello explaining to Iago that he had made Cassio his lieutenant....smile"

Updated Version of Othello

"I loved it and felt the whole cast did an amazing job. Of course it was wonderful to see Denzel and Jake in the flesh. They modernized the story in that they wore suits and Marine fatigues however still spoke in the Shakespeare prose. Don’t miss it!"
