Unexpected excellence !
"I loved the sparce scenery and the miming of things like stirring a coffee or picking weeds. The synchronized stillness of the cast and of course the comical take on the narration ."

Existential Americana
"This production is a slow burn--don't be fooled by the Stage Manager's folksy demeanor or the amateurish miming of daily chores that introduce the audience to life in Grover's Corners at the start of Act 1. The simple act of making breakfast or delivering milk become fraught with texture as the residents of Grover's Corners confront the inevitable milestones of life--and whatever comes after life. Wilder requires the performer to turn from humor to gravitas at the drop of a dime, and there is no shortage of standout performances, thanks in particular to Donald Webber Jr. as Simon Stimpson, Michelle Wilson as Mrs. Gibbs, and Zoey Deutch as Emily Webb. A haunting and timely revival. "

Excellant acting
"The cast did a wonderful job bringing the town to life. With no intermission it was moved along by the stage manger. Jim Parsons was great."

Our Town held true to the original but included a more modern twist
"Acting was superb! The sets were very minimal but the actors were able to provide vision enhancement with their actions. Would certainly recommend this play. "

Good Show
"I’m a fan of the old film. This was modernized and it worked in some ways not in others. The smell of Helitrope during the show was lovely. This was because of Mrs Gibbs garden. Jim Parson was a solid Narrator but at times he pushed characters off stage. That was a bit weird. Also no sets so you have to imagine everything and at times characters would forget they were holding something lol All in all an enjoyable outing. "

Trouble in intermission land
"This play requires lingering. It should be savored in the same way that it’s content asks us to savor life. It was impossible to savor this production. I think it was because of the unnecessary upfront music, the unnecessary addition of music during the wedding, and removing both intermissions. The need to get us out of the theater because it’s a long play without an intermission resulted in pacing so that the audience can hardly linger and enjoy any moment at all. It was one of the most unmoving productions of Our Town I’ve ever seen. I’m very disappointed because the reviews suggest otherwise."

Early 1900's or 2024?
"I thought the performances were a bit bland, nothing stood out as great but that is true to the way the play was written. I did not like that the costumes had some characters wearing updated clothes not true to when the play takes place but maybe this was over my head, lol"

Just ok
"Honestly it was slow. I had to use my imagination and would like the broadway show to WOW me. No real set either. Loved all the actors but not enough to keep me from yawning."

I think the magic is dated
"I'm sure that the style and subject of the play were revolutionary when it came out, but current-day brains are more sophisticated, and therefore, it just isn't as interesting or exciting. The acting is first-rate, though."

not what I hoped for a classic
"Besides Jim Parsons, the rest of the cast was barely audible. You could not understand hardly any of the dialogue. When a play is a drama with no music or set changes and/or action, this becomes a monotony of sounds. The play just dragged and my significant other fell asleep. I am not sure that it would have happened if you could understand what they were saying. To be honest, on top of all that, I am not sure that hearing all the dialogue would have improved it much. Finally, I saw " A long day's Journey into Night " last year. Again, it was a drama with no music or real action but it was fantastic."
