Our Town, the timeless drama of life in the village of Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire, has become an American classic with universal appeal. Thornton Wilder’s most frequently performed play, Our Town appeared on Broadway in 1938 to wide acclaim and won the Pulitzer Prize. This production will be the first major Broadway revival of the play in nearly 25 years.
"I love the written play, and I liked this dramatic rendition. Good acting with little setting. Actors had to portray through their motions and expressions. "

Loved it!
"What an amazing and moving experience! This was my first Broadway show on my first ever trip to NYC. It was so wonderful I hope I can come to another show again one day. Jim Parsons was outstanding. Always loved him in his previous work and was so looking forward to seeing him live and in person. He certainly did not disappoint. All the other performers did a terrific job as well. Well worth including on my to do list for my NYC adventure!"

Great story/great cast
"The production of Our Town at the beautiful Barrymore Theatre was excellent. I don’t think there’s a bad seat in the house. The play is heartwarming and heartbreaking. Jim Parsons and Richard Thomas were perfectly cast. Was I the only person who cried?!"

Best revival of the season!
"This was the best-acted, most moving, emotional and thought-provoking drama of the season! The minimal set gave audience members the chance to imagine exactly what was going on and was so effective. Not only was this Wilder’s masterpiece but arguably it was the best American play of the 20th century."

A timeless tale worth the journey
"The set design, casting, acting, and interpretation of Wilder's timeless play were superb! Zoey Deutch perfectly portrayed youthful self absorption and the shock of "you don't know what you've got until you lose it." Katie Holmes was a wonder as Mrs. Webb, displaying a quiet strength of a woman working to keep her household running smoothly day to day. This is a timeless tale of the people that make up a community, their roles, and their interconnectedness."

A glimpse into small town NH life in early 1900s
"I enjoyed the plot, design, performance (lead and ensemble). Jim Parsons rose to the challenge laid by former “Stage Managers” such as Orson Welles and Hal Holbrook. The musical elements throughout the show were performed perfectly. This is a show appropriate for families and one of my favorites on Broadway."

Excellent cast, fantastic performances and marvelous story.
"The story was heart warming, taking you back to a simpler time that stressed family and community, though still timely. The cast was well assembled and they really got into the character and seemed to be moved by the subject."

Broadway, Always a Tangible Experience
"One word..."WOW!" The intimate setting of the Barrymore only served to further heighten the experience for me...add in the superb cast (EVERYONE) and, well, I'm still experiencing the performance three days later. Forget going to a movie - there is absolutely, positively no substitution for live theatre!"

Deeper than you may think
"The play was fantastic, Jim Parsons is a great storyteller. But when everything makes sense in the end and you have that "aha" moment, it's just so good. I teared up a bit. The cast was brilliant, the songs were beautiful and everything was very emotional for me. Go if you love a good metaphor as well."

Our Town always delivers
"As we walked out of the theatre immediately after Act 3, many of the audience was sniffling or searching for hankies to wipe away the tears. This “Our Town”delivers that gut punch about living, loving, dying that it always has. Kenny Leon’s inspired directing adds a few layers of humor, energy and pathos to this wonderful play. The minimal set and lighting with lanterns cascading down from above the company beautifully emphasize the star studded and universal themes.
Jim Parsons as the bearded stage manager delivered an outstanding performance.
If you go, be sure to notice the aromas that are pumped into the audience in certain scenes, particularly at the end when the smell of bacon permeates the theatre.
If you like to be amused and deeply touched in your theatre experience this show is for you."
