The Screwtape Letters Show Poster

The Screwtape Letters Cast & Creative

A provocative and wickedly funny adaptation of C.S. Lewis' 1942 novel about spiritual warfare from a demon’s point of view. In this inverted moral universe set in an office in hell, God is called the “Enemy” and the devil is referred to as “Our Father Below.” As His Abysmal Sublimity Screwtape, writer Max McLean creates a “master of the universe” character whose rhetorical flourishes mesmerize.

About The Screwtape Letters

What Is the Story of The Screwtape Letters?
This theatrical adaptation of C. S. Lewis’ celebrated World War II-era novel features a demon named Screwtape who corresponds from his office in hell with an unseen disciple-in-training, offering advice on how to lead people on earth to the dark side. Assisted by his personal secretary (a creature named Toadpipe), Screwtape explains how various temptations can turn people away from The Enemy (God) and toward Our Father Below (the Devil). “We have never had souls in such abundance,” he chillingly declares.
