perfectly irreverent
"I enjoyed getting lost in this ridiculously poignant treatment of...well, everything. It was beautifully constructed and choreographed and just uncomfortable enough to make laughing at the state of the world worth it. "

Thought provoking, at times uncomfortable, and absolutely entertaining.
"Fearlessly performed by a very talented cast. Audience interaction kept us on our toes, and the set was marvelous. Great theater and great vibe! I want to see it again!!"

Most Pertinent & Thoughtful Play of 2026
"This was cunning satirical take on the story of Anne Frank. With modern-day application and conscientious (some might even say “woke”) critiques on the zeitgeist of the day, Slam Frank was truly intrepid in not pulling any punches. Even the most ardent pro-imperialism and pro-capitalism bootlicker would have a hard time spontaneously combusting whilst watching. This is because the entire cast is masterful in their respective performances, challenging the audience to think critically about social and political issues, all whilst singing, rapping, dancing, and smiling in our (the audience’s) face. AWESOME PLAY."

About Slam Frank

In 2022, a viral tweet asked "Did Anne Frank ever acknowledge her white privilege?" While many rejected labelling Anne Frank this way, others argued that her story should be viewed through the lens of modern privilege politics.

Slam Frank imagines what happens when a progressive theater company asks themselves that same question, applying the rules and tropes of progressive theater to The Diary of Anne Frank. Transcending all taste and decency, they transform Anne Frank’s true story into an intersectional, multi-ethnic, genderqueer, decolonized, anti-capitalist, hyper-empowering Afro-Latin hip-hop musical.

This play-within-a-play is one of the most shocking and talked-about theatrical satires to hit off-Broadway in generations. And you, the audience, have the privilege of witnessing it.
