Just a lot of Fun
"Smash is a good time. Not perfect logic. Not deep. But a lot of heart and great songs and dance numbers. Especially enjoyable if you have an interest in the sometimes messy process of putting together a Broadway show. "

A Feel-Good Romp
"Smash exceeded our high expectations, with memorable song-and-dance numbers, wonderful music, superb acting, and stimulating staging. We especially loved how the audience even becomes part of the hilarious tale, and the entire audience appeared to instantly connect with the show and its storyline. The show is easily the best musical we’ve seen in many years and reminded us of all the best that is Broadway. Kudos to the cast and crew and all the creatives involved in the production. The actors particularly succeeded in providing heart-warming, nuanced, and authentic performances. We are SO glad we picked Smash as the show to see on our one night available in New York for Broadway entertainment! "

Great experience for a SMASH TV lover
"I was a devotee of SMASH the TV show. I loved the music, the clever lyrics, and the performances, especially Megan Hilty. I was disappointed she was in Death Becomes Her instead of SMASH, but I wanted to see the show regardless. I'm so glad I did! The cast was brilliant. Robyn Hurder was fantastic. I loved the changes from the TV show. I liked that most of the cast got to sing the songs as opposed to just Ivy. The dancing was fabulous and those songs...so great. The play added humor that the TV show lacked, which I appreciated. Brooks Ashmanskas as Nigel was hilarious. "

This show is awesome!
"I was particularly struck by the vocal talents of each of the female leads. Each have multiple solos, and to say they pulled each one off flawlessly would be an understatement. Their voices were powerful and rich and gave me goosebumps. If that wasn't enough, the costumes are gorgeous while the dance numbers had me tapping my feet and moving in my seat. If you're a fan of the TV show, keep an open mind on the story; many similarities, but many differences, with a different performance of the theme song, "Let Me Be Your Star". Still great and sung with perfection. Billed as a musical comedy, it is funny and highly amusing with the comedic moments' timing very well done by the cast and weaved throughout the story. I highly recommend this show. You will not be disappointed. I left the theater smiling from ear-to-ear."

The most laughs & overall enjoyment we've had on Broadway in years!
"A highly entertaining and informative look behind the scenes of Broadway from many perspectives - producers, investors, writers, dancers, directors, actors, and production crew. A showcase of talent singing, dancing and acting, packed with heaps of fun and hilarious moments and lines. I enjoyed it immensely as did my two mid 20's son and daughter."

About Smash

Smash, inspired by the hit TV show, is finally coming to Broadway! A hilarious behind-the-scenes rollercoaster ride about the making of a Marilyn Monroe musical called Bombshell, it’s got all the iconic songs, kick-ass choreography, and backstage pandemonium that make Broadway the beloved institution it is today.

Our cast is stacked, because who better to play a bunch of wannabe Broadway big shots than actual Broadway big shots? Among them: Robyn Hurder, Brooks Ashmanskas, Krysta Rodriguez, Bella Coppola, Jacqueline Arnold, Caroline Bowman, John Behlmann, Kristine Nielsen and Casey Garvin to name just a few.

The production will also be helmed by five-time Tony Award® winner Susan Stroman, and feature a score by Tony, Emmy®, and Grammy Award®-winning duo Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, who wrote over two dozen songs for the television show (many of which will be heard in the musical), a book by Rick Elice and Bob Martin (Tony winner), and choreography by Joshua Bergasse.
