" Suffs is an amazing must-see, especially in these times! Not only was the talent top-notch, the storyline is captivating. Not for young children but I think appropriate for middle and high school students (some language). Definitely makes you aware!"

"Loved the energy, passion, lyrics and music.
Should be required viewing for anyone who cares about democracy—especially young voters who may not know the story and the struggle."

Timely and moving, with stellar performances
"Everyone in the show was incredibly talented, and the writing and music were perfect - pulled your heartstrings (haven’t cried this much at a show in a looong time) while teaching us how the suffrage movement formed and evolved. Took our 2 teens and we all loved it!!!"

Women of the USA "Keep Marching"
"This is a historically important story of the amazing women that had to fight for their right to vote. This work could not be more poignant at this time in today's politics. I would encourage you to take your tweens and teens. As a white male, I found it extremally powerful and captivating. Shaina Taub and the entire cast of women were absolutely amazing, and we can't wait to get back to see it again.
Women of the USA, "Keep Marching" and save our Democracy!"

Very Inspiring
"It was great to see the different generations of females in the audience being inspired and getting a history lesson about voting right in the US and how hard it was but sacrifice and belief of doing the right thing kept the movement going and still will continue today...we can let our guard down...ignore your rights and they will be taken away is the lesson "

An inspiring musical that I 100% recommend
"The topic that Suffs covers is intrinsically inspiring and educational, and I am drawn to this type of show. The songs are not as catchy as shows like Wicked, Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, but they are still very well written and well produced. The cast was fantastic. It does not have complicated scenes and staging like some shows do, but it was still effective and pleasing. I am also impressed by how they addressed the subject of racial equality in this show because when the suffragists fought for women's right to vote and ultimately succeeded in 1910s-20s, unfortunately racial equality was still lagging far behind."

"Great voices, performers were Inspiring. Sets were sparse but did the job. Some lyrics and music were repetitive but actually underscored what was happening in the show. Costumes were fun and well done. Very inspiring overall. Very relevant to todays audience and political climate."

Her story sung by amazing performers
"I loved the enthusiastic portrayals - fictional but opening up the audience’s understanding of how hard it was. I would recommend a read or two before the show to understand the struggles. Also why no mention of the English side of this struggle - Parkhurst? After two hours I got tired and repeats of the songs became redundant IMO. Otherwise a terrific show with applause to all!"

We wanted to love this show
"Overall, this show was simultaneously slow moving and cheesy. The music felt like it was trying to be Hamilton, without the rapping or catchy riffs. The choreography seemed juvenile and thrown together lazily, which lead to awkward execution from the cast… who tried their best. For such an important topic, we were hoping for it to be better. Go see Water For Elephants instead!! "

About
Suffs
Following a sold-out, extended run at The Public Theater, Suffs arrives on Broadway — and not a moment too soon. From the singular mind of Shaina Taub, this “remarkable, epic new musical” (Variety), boldly explores the victories and failures of a struggle for equality that’s far from over.
It’s 1913 and the women’s movement is heating up in America, anchored by the suffragists — “Suffs,” as they call themselves — and their relentless pursuit of the right to vote. Reaching across and against generational, racial, and class divides, these brilliant, flawed women entertain and inspire us with the story of their hard-won victory in an ongoing fight. So much has changed since the passing of the Nineteenth Amendment over a century ago, and yet we’re reminded sometimes we need to look back, in order to march fearlessly into the future.
