Hilarious
"I didn't know much about this musical before going, but it was very enjoyable. The cast was on point and we laughed quite a bit. It's only one act and was a perfect length. Highly recommend."

Mother/daughter recommendation.
"I went to see this show with my mom and we both loved it! It was funny and heartfelt all at the same time. The jokes were definitely geared toward adults but I think children would also really enjoy it for a different perspective. Highly recommend. "

Hysterical
"This was undeniably funny and painfully catchy; the songs are still stuck in my head almost a day after we watched the show. It was so good, and I appreciated the diffences in the character's personality! "

An Amazingly Hilarious Show
"I didn’t know what to expect with this show, but was beyond impressed by the end. It was funny, heart warming and perfectly cringey (we’ve all had those middle school moments). Almost half of the cast were understudies the day I went, and they all felt like the roles were made for them. So in awe of the actors’ ability to think on their feet during the audience participation. A truly unique show that you can’t miss!"

Y.E.S. Yes!
"This was such a fun, mostly light, show. I was smiling, laughing, and tapping my foot through the entire show. The "theatre" seemed to be a refurbished movie complex, and there were no bad seats!"

Such a fun night
"Spelling bee is my absolute favorite show ever and this performance did not disappoint! The acting was great, the singing was great, and the guest speller interactions were so funny. After the show I met a couple of the actors and they were so nice. If you have the chance to see the show don’t pass up the opportunity."

Super funny and great music
"The actors were hilarious at improv to interact with audience reactions and volunteer spelling bee participants. I love when musicals (or songs in general) have overlapping vocals, which this musical had plenty of. Great music and cast."

A definite must see
"This was so funny. This should be on a national tour. I came up to New York from Philly just to see this for my birthday. It seemed quirky but it was way better than I expected. I've seen many plays/musicals and this has become #1 must see to my friends. I would definitely come back to see it again as I can tell there will be something a little different from what I saw. That's the only spoiler I'm giving. "

Delightfully Smart, Warm, and Hilarious
"This production of "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" was an absolute joy from start to finish. The cast was sharp, committed, and wonderfully in sync, balancing laugh-out-loud comedy with moments of genuine tenderness. What really stood out was how fully each performer inhabited their character—every spelling moment felt specific, human, and earned."

Family of four. Long Island residents. Kids age 14 and 11
"It’s Off-Broadway, so you’re not in one of the classic, iconic theaters, and the audience is smaller. But it’s a great show that truly entertains both kids and parents. It runs about two hours with no intermission, which makes the timing very manageable. Funny, great singing, and a quality set as well."

A must see, hilarious and talented cast
"This was an amazing show. Saw with my 21 year old son, who is a theatre student and has been acting since 3rd grade. His university recently performed the show this past winter in Florida, where he played the part of Chip, so I was familiar with and already loved the show. These actors were perfectly cast, performed flawlessly, with some scripting adapted to performance and audience. I was laughing and cackling so hard during many scenes. Go see this, you will not be disappointed, I promise!"

Great cast!
"The kids are the stars but this show had 3 standout adult character as well, especially Mitch Mahoney with the comedic timing and powerful singing voice. It’s still one of my all time favorite musicals with the best musical numbers."
