The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial Tickets

Set in 1945, this play centers a young lieutenant who commandeered the U.S.S. Caine during a typhoon in World War II. In order to get the lieutenant out of the charges, his lawyer (David Schwimmer) must prove that the ship's commander (Zeljko Ivanek) was mentally incapable of leading his men or controlling the ship. The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial was first seen on Broadway in 1954 and starred Henry Fonda in Schwimmer's role. It was then revived at the Circle in the Square in 1983 and made into a 1988 TV movie starring Jeff Daniels, Eric Bogosian and Peter Gallagher.
