"The sets for this show are incredible! The cast was superb, and the choreography was a treat to witness. The actors were wonderful (Jeremy Jordan’s voice is just Wow! - a great Gatsby!). I enjoyed Eva Noblezada as Daisy as well, but my favorite characters were Nick Carraway (Noah J Ricketts) and Jordan Baker (Samantha Pauly), who had great chemistry and wonderful comic timing. The songs were entertaining, though a couple didn’t hold my attention and I found myself snoozing.
Overall, a great time at the theater. "

Gatsby’s heart wrenching story
"Before I came to see the show, I wasn’t very familiar with the story of Jay Gatsby. Turns out this cast of incredible talent would turn a normal matinee into a wonderful immersive experience. The story of Jay Gatsby’s forbidden love for Daisy, scandals and shady business all around, and the incredibly sad ending, all come together with Jeremy Jordan and Eva Noblezada to be a masterpiece. I am so happy I had the opportunity to see this show and amazing cast and I wish all of the cast and crew the best of luck."

Great show
"Very fun show with big musical numbers. It does deviate slightly from the source material but I think the changes only add to it. Eva Noblezada (Dasy) is spectacular and should, if nothing else does, convince you to go see this show. "

Great Gatsby
"Nice adaptation of the book. Stage props were incredible. Singing and dancing were good, especially the tap dancing. Sometimes hard to understand words despite great seats. "

Disapponted by plot
"For all the visibility and fame The Great Gatsby seems to have it wasn’t nearly as good as Hadestown, which is a smaller budget more mid-market show. Gatsby was big and bold and bright with huge and impressive sets and lots of dancing, including tap, and beautiful 20s costumes.
However the storyline is weak imo and wasn’t fully developed. And the musical tunes aren’t as catchy as I’d expected from this big a show.
The actors and dancers performed their craft very well, so credit to them. Too bad they didn’t have a more complete story / script to work with."

Good enough?
"Act 2 made up for Act 1.
Act 1 was boring and predictable.
I woke up in Act 2.
The singing was very good. The dancing was good in some parts and average in others.
Jeremy Jordan’s voice was superior, but I thought he got too pop and casual in some of the songs.
The music does not reinforce the show’s time-setting.
The set was very creative and the set transitions were almost perfect.
I don’t want to see it again.
I feel bad saying that. But it could have been way better than what they showed. "

fun and beautiful sets
"First of all, the sets were gorgeous, leaning into the opulence of the story. Costuming was good, with Daisy’s being my favorite. Strong talent on stage. I do feel like sometimes it leaned too much into comedy. Daisy & Jay’s chemistry was not always there. Songs were good but some carried on a beat too long."

The sets were amazing
"The stage/set transitions along with special effects made for an amazing show! The dancing was very entertaining. The story line is dark and I would not recommend to sensitive or young audiences. "

Mixture of great music and screaming songs.
"I loved the amazing voices, especially the lead characters.
I really loved the tap dance routines.
The fighting with all the screaming music in 2 places was not great for kids."

"The costumes and set design was excellent and transformative into the luxury of the 1920s. I loved My Green Light, have literally been playing it on repeat the day after the performance. Strongest singer was Ryan McCartan (Jay Gatsby). He was very impactful and really brought out the low class/phony identity of Gatsby that the film (Leo) does not capture as well as it could. This musical has easily taken the spot of an everyday listen to musical along side Hairspray and Wicked."

The sets & costumes were amazing!
"I haven't been to Broadway in over a decade so this was a real treat. The Broadway theater is great - seems like not a bad view in the house. I really loved the musical's backdrops, the costumes, and the dancing (all 4-5 stars). The actors were also good & the lead (Gatsby) and a few other main characters had great voices. I would say the storyline is 'so-so' and the music itself is just okay, but overall it's great entertainment. "

Plot development felt rushed!
"The first half seemed rushed trying to build the plot. I wish they had reimagined it instead. The original parts of the play were very good. All the scenes seemed rushed to add in some movie elements and original elements and at times it was a little too staged for my liking. The set design was masterful and beautiful, and the costuming was visually stunning! The actors were great and so were the songs. Definitely glad we saw it but would rank it in the middle range when compared to other works we’ve seen. "

In general --F.Scott would be pleased !
"The story was the same. The costumes were colorful, the dancing was energetic, the sets were absolutely amazing. The music was OK - lively, but not hum - able. What I didn't like was the singing. There is a difference between singing and shouting. "

Great Show

Slick production, but...
"A really good show, very slick, great singing, very professional, but...in terms of the acting it lacked soul and a connection with the essence of the story Great Gatsby. It felt like the show is being used as a vehicle for the latest up and coming actors largely just to show-case their abilities. Razz m tazz, but hollow."

Stage design disappointing
"The stage design is disappointing. Most of the design is just high definition TV backdrop. Not much 3D stage props with the special effects like other Broadway Shows I have seen. But for children over 10 yrs old it will be a fun experience to watch. Nice costumes! "
