"All the actors were excellent and those with singing parts were outstanding!
The play is based on a book and there was a movie. Checking out either one would make following the play a bit easier.
Very clever show with a few interesting twists.

Heartfelt performance that will bring tears to your eyes
"I am a big fan of the movie and the book so was skeptical how the musical would stack up. While the performance felt a bit rushed at times and skipping critical time spans, the writers did the best they could to fit everything Into a 2.5 hour performance. Magnificent performances by younger and middle Ali’s as well as younger Noah in his Broadway debut. I found myself tearing up in a few parts in the 2nd act (good tears). I would recommend the Notebook highly to anyone who is a sucker for romance and looking for a musical with an epic love story."

"It was risky to adapt this beloved movie and book into a Broadway musical but it is mission accomplished for the creators of the show! The storyline and musical renditions strengthen the story and the cast, especially older Allie and Noah were great. Worth a watch
"Too be completely honest the gravitas of the play is a 1/10th of the film, but it still packed an emotional punch. Not gonna lie, I cried in the 2nd act. It is worth a watch, but the first act is a mishmash, which is clearly why it isn’t a smash hit. There are a few musical highlights but no showstopper song that brings it all home. The multiple Noah and Ally configurations that appear on stage at the same time for no apparent reason other than harmonies adds nothing to the narrative. If I didn’t know this was a device prior to seeing the play, not sure I wouldn’t had been super confused. "
