Theater Policies

The August Wilson Theatre has recently updated their health & safety policies. As the theater updates its policies, we will update this page to reflect them.

DO I NEED TO BE FULLY VACCINATED?

The following applies to all ticketholders for performances through April 30, 2022.


VACCINE POLICY

All ticketholders will need to be fully vaccinated with a United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or World Health Organization (WHO) authorized vaccine and must show provide of one of the following:


  • 2 doses of an FDA or WHO authorized two-dose COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before the performance date, or
  • 1 dose of an FDA or WHO authorized single-dose COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before the performance.

  • All ticketholders must also present a government-issued ID such as a driver’s license or passport. Ticketholders younger than 18 may present a government-issued ID or school ID, with or without a photo.



    VALID PROOF OF VACCINATION OR NEGATIVE TEST

    Proof of vaccination or negative test must come directly from the healthcare provider that performed the vaccination or test. Ticketholders can present proof via an official governmental mobile app or website containing vaccination or testing information. New York State residents, or anyone who received a COVID-19 vaccine in New York State, may present proof through the use of the Excelsior Pass (for more details, visit: https://epass.ny.gov).

    Policy Exceptions

    The only exception to the above policy will be for ticketholders under the age of 5, those who need reasonable accommodations due to a medical exception or a sincerely held religious belief that prevents vaccination, and those who are not 14 days past their final vaccination. These ticketholders must provide proof of at least one of the following:

     

  • a negative COVID-19 PCR test performed by a medical professional, taken within 72 hours of the performance start time, that clearly shows the date and time of the test, or
  • a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 6 hours of the performance start time that clearly shows the date and time of the test. This test may be performed by a medical professional or by using an over-the-counter testing kit.

  • This policy is subject to change.

    DO MY TWO DOSES NEED TO BE FROM THE SAME VACCINE?

    For international ticketholders, 2 doses of any “mix and match” combination of FDA or WHO approved COVID-19 vaccines is acceptable. The doses must have been administered at least 17 days apart, and at least 14 days must have passed since your second dose.


    WHAT IF MY PROOF-OF-VACCINATION IS NOT IN ENGLISH?

    We will be accepting proof-of-vaccination for all FDA and WHO authorized vaccines. If your proof-of-vaccination is not in English, please locate a COVID Safety Officer or other Theatre employee for assistance at your time of entry.


    WHAT IS YOUR MASK POLICY?

    Masks are required to be worn by all ticketholders at all times except while eating or drinking when seated.


    IS THEATRE SEATING SOCIALLY DISTANT?

    Seating is not socially distant.


    WHAT OTHER COVID PROTOCOLS WILL BE IN PLACE?

    Contactless options will be available for transactions upon entry and for in-venue purchases. All auditorium ventilation systems have been upgraded to MERV 13 filters. EPA approved cleaning products are used along with rigorous cleaning and sanitation protocols.


    Specific health & safety protocols are subject to change but will be clearly communicated to ticket holders in advance of their performance. Ticket holders who do not comply with venue protocols will not be admitted.
