About

The Cort Theatre was named after producer John Cort, who had built the theater as a platform for his own productions. Peg o' My Heart was its premiere performance in 1912, which ran for 607 performances.

The Shubert Organization eventually took ownership of the venue and had it completely restored. The Merv Griffin Show also filmed in this theater from 1969 to 1974.
