Tony Winner Marcia Gay Harden Among Honorees at Tisch School of the Arts

Academy and Tony Award winning God of Carnage star Marcia Gay Harden, as well as Academy Award winners Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Sheila Nevins and arts philanthropist Diana King, will be honored at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts Gala, This is Tisch! The benefit will take place November 2 at the Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center.

The fundraiser celebrates the work of some of the nation’s most distinguished stars and philanthropists. In addition to Hollywood producer Grazer, director Howard, HBO Documentary Films President Nevins, arts patron King and Tisch alumna Harden, the gala will feature performances from Tisch students and alumni. This year’s event will be produced by Broadway’s Ken Davenport, with direction by Stafford Arima, and include presentations by Sony Corporation CEO Sir Howard Stringer, director Spike Lee and Pulitzer Prize winner Tony Kushner.

Performers for the 2009 benefit will be announced at a later date. Previous events have featured the talents of Billy Crystal, Jerry Seinfeld, Wyclef Jean, Bill Cosby, Elaine Stritch, Raul Esparza, Jesse L. Martin and more.

Proceeds from the evening will be used to provide scholarships to students who would not otherwise be able to afford an education at NYU’s Tisch.
