Michael Feinstein, beloved Broadway pianoman and vocalist, may be headed back to The Great White Way for the first time in ten years with a production slated for February 2010, according to the New York Times. The show, tentatively titled All About Me, will be a collaboration between the singer and Peter Ackerman, best known for his contributions to the animated Ice Age movies, as well as for revising the book of The Pajama Game. A theater and official opening date for the concert event have yet to be announced.
Feinstein last appeared on Broadway in 1990's Michael Feinstein in Concert: Piano and Voice. Previous credits include 1988's Isn't it Romantic and Michael Feinstein in Concert. He served as a musical consultant on 1983's My One and Only. Feinstein's numerous albums include Live at the Algonquin, Remember, Isn't it Romantic, and Over There, all of which feature Feinstein's signature interpretations of American and Broadway songbook standards. The singer founded the nightclub Feinstein's at the Regency, where he recently paired with Cheyenne Jackson for the sold-out nightclub act The Power of Two. Currently, he is appearing at Feinstein's alongside Tony winner Christine Ebersole. His latest CD, The Sinatra Project, garnered his fifth Grammy Award nomination.
The artist's newest show will reportedly be producted by Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel, though no additional details have been released at this time.
