Tony and Emmy winner Kristin Chenoweth will return to the hit FOX series Glee in 2010 for at least one episode, according to EW.com. Chenoweth appeared on Glee’s September 29 episode as April Rhodes, a drunken chanteuse brought in as a glee club ringer by former classmate Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison). Her guest stint resulted in an “Am I dreaming?” moment for musical theater geeks everywhere: a duet of “Maybe This Time” from Cabaret—broadcast in prime time—with series star Lea Michele. Chenoweth’s second appearance on Glee will presumably be taped before she begins rehearsals for the just confirmed Broadway revival of Promises, Promises, which is set to begin previews at the Broadway Theatre on March 28.
Series co-creator Ryan Murphy told EW that superstar Julia Roberts has been grooving on Glee from the set of Eat, Pray, Love, the feature film adaptation he’s directing based on Elizabeth Gilbert’s mega-selling memoir. “We’re on location here,” Murphy said from Bali, “and she’s watched episodes and has quite enjoyed them.”
