The 21st Annual Gypsy of the Year Competition will be held December 7 at 4:30 PM and December 8 at 2 PM at Broadway's Palace Theatre. All proceeds benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Hosts, performers and additional details will be released shortly.
One of the most loved industry events of the fall season, the Gypsy of the Year Competition pits Broadway and off-Broadway's most talented "gypsies," also known as chorus members, against one another in a show that's one part competition, one part wild variety show. The event itself is the culmination of six weeks of fund raising for BC/EFA.
Last year's showdown was hosted by Seth Rudetsky, with appearances by Tyne Daly and Jonathan Hadary, hosts of the very first Gypsy of the Year competition.
