The eagerly awaited new musical The Scottsboro Boys made its off-Broadway debut at the Vineyard Theatre on March 10 before an enthusiastic, appropriately starry crowd. Emotions were high not only because of the subject matter (the prosecution of nine young African-Americans wrongfully accused of raping two white women in 1930s Alabama) but because the show is the final collaboration between much-loved composer John Kander and the late lyricist Fred Ebb. First-nighters included Liza, Chita, Joel Grey and more. Take a look at the happy company and their admiring guests.
