Wet Weather Cover, the debut play by British stage actor Oliver Cotton, is set to make its London debut. Michael Brandon, Steve Furst and Pepe Balderrama are set to star in the comedy, directed by Kate Fahy. It begins previews at the Arts Theatre on April 6, 2010.
In Wet Weather Cover, Brad and Stuart are two actors from different backgrounds. One is American, one is English and they seem to have very little in common. Trapped together in a small leaking trailer on a film set, unable to work because of the torrential rain, tensions mount. Secrets are uncovered and resolutions are undone in a hilarious and explosive battle of wills.
Brandon stars as Brad. He is best known for his role on Dempsey & Makepeace. He received an Olivier Award nomination for his performance in Jerry Springer The Musical and was also seen in the Broadway production of Does a Tiger Wear a Necktie and On the Waterfront in London. Furst stars as Stuart. On stage, he has been seen in Twelve Angry Men, Behind Net Curtains and Jack & The Beanstalk and his television credits include The Legend of Dick and Dom, Little Britain, Wuthering Heights, The Bill and Armstrong & Miller. Also starring in the production is Balderrama, who has been seen on stage in The Miser, No Such Cold Thing, Macbeth and Oedipus and The Odd Couple – female version.
The production will feature scenic design by Tanya McCallin, lighting design by Emma Chapman and sound design by Tim Middleton.
