Tony winner Anthony LaPaglia's recent return to the boards in Lend Me a Tenor after seven seasons on the crime series Without a Trace got us thinking about stage talent that populates TV's sleuthing shows. With everyone from B.D. Wong (Law & Order) to Joe Mantegna (Criminal Minds) getting tough on crime, we asked which stage vet turned crime fighter would you most like to see turn in his badge for a return to the Broadway boards?
You cracked the case! The clear Weekend Poll winner is Law & Order's Jesse L. Martin. It's pretty obvious why: While Martin rocked as Detective Ed Green on the long-running hit for almost 10 years, the long-running show did little to showcase the Rent alum's range of talent (he wasn't a singing detective, after all). Martin's run on L&O ended in 2008, so here's hoping Broadway's casting directors apprehend this fugitive for some time in the Broadway spotlight very soon.
