Winners of the 2010 Lortel Awards, honoring the best of off-Broadway, were unveiled on May 2 at the annual awards ceremony at Terminal 5. The Addams Family star Bebe Neuwirth co-hosted the event with Bryan Batt of Mad Men fame.
Although it lost out to Horton Foote's The Orphans' Home Cycle in the category of Outstanding Play, the Lincoln Center Theater production of Andrew Bovell's When the Rain Stops Falling earned a total of five awards, including Outstanding Director for David Cromer (Our Town) and Outstanding Featured Actress for Mary Beth Hurt. On the musicals front, Kander and Ebb's The Scottsboro Boys was named Outstanding Musical, with director/choreographer Susan Stroman also winning for her choreography.
