We couldn't help but be a little excited when we heard acting powerhouses Edie Falco and Alison Pill would be teaming up for a dramatic new two-hander about the relationships formed in a female prison. Winner of the 2009 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, Chloe Moss' This Wide Night centers on a female ex-con (Pill) who is unexpectedly visited by her former cellmate (Falco). The two outcasts, once so close on the inside, struggle to navigate a friendship beyond the prison walls, which may threaten their prospects to start over. (The play was first produced in 2008 by Clean Break, a London organization that works with women affected by the criminal justice system.) A Naked Angels production, the show is currently in previews at Playwrights' Horizon's Peter Jay Sharp Theatre, with opening set for May 16. We've got a sneak peek at the dramatic duo at work, so click through the photos to catch a glimpse of Falco and Pill doing what they do best.
