On November 10, something went bump in the opening night at off-Broadway’s creepy thriller Play Dead! Every spine in the Players Theatre was chilled by the macabre throwback to the spook shows of the 1930s that explore death, darkness and deception using magic, illusions, channeled spirits and more. Set in a theater lit by a single ghost light, Play Dead was co-written by sideshow performer/magician Todd Robbins, who also starred in the piece; and Teller (of magic duo Penn & Teller), who directed. Post-show, the cast members de-bloodied and celebrated their opening night among the living at the nearby Madame X! Click through to check out our photos of this thrilling opening night.
