Twenty-six years after its debut at the Public Theater, The Normal Heart, Larry Kramer’s explosive and emotional play about the early days of the AIDS epidemic in New York City’s gay community, finally bowed on Broadway on April 27. The anticipation was palpable as fans and friends like Sarah Jessica Parker and Melissa Etheridge walked the red carpet, while show stars Joe Mantello, Ellen Barkin, John Benjamin Hickey, Lee Pace, Jim Parsons and more prepared for the big night. After the curtain fell, the tight-knit cast headed from the Golden Theatre to the nearby Edison Ballroom with directors Joel Grey and George C.
