British actor Sam Attwater, who recently skated to victory on UK reality hit Dancing on Ice, will join the cast of Dreamboats and Pettiicoats on the West End beginning July 18. He will play the role of Norman in the show, which is currently running at the Playhouse Theatre directed by Bob Thomson.
Prior to his ice skating victory, Attwater was best known to British television audiences as heartthrob Leon Small on long-running soap opera EastEnders.
Dreamboats and Petticoats which is based on a CD of classic rock ‘n’ roll tunes, tells the tale of young musicians in 1961 competing to win both a songwriting competition and the affections of a girl. With a book by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the show features songs from artists such as Roy Orbison, the Everly Brothers and Neil Sedaka and includes hits like "Let’s Dance," "Little Town Flirt," "Runaround Sue," "Happy Birthday Sweet 16" and "Let’s Twist Again."
Dreamboats and Petticoats is produced by Bill Kenwright and Laurie Mansfield, in association with Universal Music.
