Alex Gaumond Set to Lead Cast of West End's We Will Rock You; Mazz Murray Returns for Limited Run

Alex Gaumond will join the cast of the West End's We Will Rock You as Galileo beginning August 8 at the Dominion Theatre. On the same night Mazz Murray, who recently departed the show for maternity leave, will return as Killer Queen. Murray will play a two-week limited engagement, with current cast member Brenda Edwards resuming the role after Murray's final performance on August 20.

Gaumond previously starred in the U.K. tour of We Will Rock You and earned an Olivier Award nomination earlier this year for Legally Blonde. His other West End credits include Guys and Dolls, The Full Monty, Desperately Seeking Susan and Sunday in the Park With George. Murray began her run with We Will Rock You in 2004. Her other theater credits include Rent, Fame and Pippin.

Featuring the music of Queen and a book by Ben Elton, We Will Rock You follows two young rebels living in a dystopian future world. The musical recently entered its tenth year in London.
