Confessions of a Mormon Boy, Steven Fales’ autobiographical one-man show, will play the Charing Cross Theatre on London’s West End from September 5 to 24. Tony Award winner Jack Hofsiss (The Elephant Man) directs.
A true story told through humor, song and the Book of Mormon, Confessions of a Mormon Boy concerns a young gay man's journey through excommunication from the Mormon Church, divorce, male prostitution and drug abuse, as he struggles to reclaim his life.
Confessions of a Mormon Boy began as a standup comedy routine in Salt Lake City in 2001, and was performed in various stages of development around America, including at the 2004 New York International Fringe Festival and the Soho Playhouse, where it ran from February 5 to April 16, 2006. Internationally, the show has played the Dublin International Gay Theatre Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe. Confessions of a Mormon Boy is the first part of Fales’ The Mormon Boy Trilogy, which also includes Missionary Position and Who's Your Daddy?
Confessions of a Mormon Boy will be produced in London by Steven M. Levy, Sean Sweeney and MB Productions.
