Carley Stenson will join the West End cast of Shrek the Musical as Princess Fiona on May 23, taking over for current leading lady Kimberly Walsh. Stenson joins Dean Chisnall as Shrek, Richard Blackwood as Donkey and Neil McDermott as Lord Farquaad. Shrek began performances at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane on May 6, directed by Jason Moore and Rob Ashford.
Shrek the Musical tells the story of the swamp-dwelling ogre who embarks on a life-changing adventure in order to reclaim the deed to his land.
Stenson currently stars as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde The Musical at London’s Savoy Theatre. Her other theater credits include Grease, Summer Song, Remembering Diana, Godspell, Aida and Abbamania. She is well known to TV audiences for her role in the British hit Hollyoaks.
