Clifford Streit’s comedy HIM is no longer running at the SoHo Playhouse. Starring Jon Fleming (Dante’s Cover), the show first premiered at the Cherry Lane Studio Theater before plans were made for a commercial run at SoHo Playhouse. HIM began previews on March 10 and opened on March 21. The show played only a few performances before its off-Broadway run was canceled.
Written and directed by Streit, HIM tells the story of hunky actor Nick Cooper (Fleming) who has just landed his breakthrough film role, and offers from Hollywood's A-list begin pouring in. Nick however is gay and his viper of an agent wants to keep him in the closet. Nick is happy to play along in spite of the vocal opposition of his boyfriend, but all hell breaks loose when a Latina bombshell is brought in to "play" Nick's girlfriend.
HIM co-starred Todd Crain, Lindsay Goranson, Georgia X. Lifsher, James Sautter and Julian Mercer.
