One of the summer’s most exciting theatrical events is happening in Los Angeles, as Tony nominees Alfred Molina and Jonathan Groff team up to star in Red at the Mark Taper Forum. Molina recreates his bravura performance as artist Mark Rothko in Logan’s Tony-winning biographical drama opposite Groff as Rothko’s assistant, Ken (played on Broadway by Tony winner Eddie Redmayne). This engrossing two-hander, which begins previews on August 1, is being directed by Michael Grandage, a Tony winner for the 2010 Broadway production. Check out our Hot Shot from photographer Craig Schwartz of Molina and Groff in rehearsal, and if you’re L.A.-bound, get tickets for this Red-hot production, which opens on August 12 and continues performances through September 9.
