The King's Head Theater's production of Tennessee Williams' Vieux Carre will play the West End's Charing Cross Theatre beginning August 14. Directed by Robert Chevara, the production will run through September 1.
Williams' semi-autobiographical play follows an aspiring young writer and the eclectic group of people he meets while residing in a New Orleans boarding house. Among the inhabitants are a manipulative landlady, an elderly and ill artist, a society girl dying of leukemia, her drug-addicted lover, a gay photographer and more. The cast features Hildegard Neil, Samantha Coughlan, Eva Fontaine, Anna Kirke, Jack McMillan, Paul Standell, David Whitworth and Tom Ross Williams.
The production will feature design by Nicolai Hart-Hansen and costumes by Jonathan Lipman.
