Spring Awakening’s Andy Mientus Is the Next Broadway.com Vlogger!

A certain Great White Way fave is about to fondle the pearl of your distant vlogging dreams. Incoming Spring Awakening star Andy Mientus is the latest to grab a camera and show us around backstage. Get ready for Vlog of Purple Summer: Backstage at Spring Awakening with Andy Mientus.

Mientus, who plays Hanschen, will take us inside the Deaf West production's innovative staging at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, from tech to previews to opening night and beyond. Expect appearances by his co-star and former vlogger Krysta Rodriguez, Oscar winner Marlee Matlin, a whole bunch of uber-talented newbies and his hubby-to-be: director Michael Arden. 

Mientus took home a Broadway.com Audience Choice Award last year for his Main Stem debut as Marius in Les Miserables. He returns to Spring Awakening after making a splash as Hanschen in the original production’s national tour. On screen, he has appeared in Smash, Chasing Life and The Flash. Mientus recently starred in Bent at Los Angeles’ Mark Taper Forum.

Vlog of Purple Summer will kick off on September 4 and run every Friday for eight weeks.
