Maybe Happy Ending North American Tour Sets Complete Cast

The complete cast for the North American tour of Maybe Happy Ending is set. The tour will launch on September 13 at the Hippodrome Theatre at The France-Merrick Performing Arts Center in Baltimore.

As previously announced, original Broadway cast members Steven Huynh and Claire Kwon will star as Helper-Bots Oliver and Claire, respectively. The cast will also include Francisco Javier González as Gil Brentley, James Seol as James, Juneseo and others as well as standbys Bryan Chan, Erica Durham, Kennedy Kanagawa and Mia Nicole Nelson.

Huynh has appeared on television in The Good Fight and Blue Bloods. Kwon previously appeared on Broadway in Almost Famous and has regional credits including The Family Album, Galileo and Life After. Seol’s Broadway credits include Come from Away and A Naked Girl on the Appian Way and he has appeared on television in The Hunting Party, The Flight Attendant and Living with Yourself. González joins the tour after appearing in Masquerade and has appeared on television in Only Murders in the Building and Count My Lies. Chan previously toured nationally with Hadestown. Durham’s national tour credits include Into the Woods and The Color Purple. Kanagawa appeared on Broadway and on tour in Into the Woods, earning Drama Desk and Clive Barnes Award nominations for his performance as Milky White. Nelson's stage credits include The Little Mermaid at Paper Mill Playhouse and A Chorus Line at Theatre Aspen.

Maybe Happy Ending takes place Inside a one-room apartment in the heart of Seoul, where Oliver lives a happily quiet life listening to jazz records and caring for his favorite plant. But what else is there to do when you’re a Helper-Bot 3, a robot that has long been retired and considered obsolete? When his fellow Helper-Bot neighbor Claire asks to borrow his charger, what starts as an awkward encounter leads to a unique friendship, a surprising adventure and maybe even...love?

The Broadway production, directed by Michael Arden, opened at the Belasco Theatre on November 12, 2024 and earned six Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The Broadway production currently stars Zachary Noah Piser as Oliver and Hannah Kevitt as Claire, with Dez Duron and Marcus Choi completing the cast. It premiered in its Korean-language version in Seoul in 2016.
