Long-Running De La Guarda to Close on 9/12

De La Guarda will end its run at off-Broadway's Daryl Roth Theatre on September 12. At the time of its closing, the show will have played 2,475 performances.
De La Guarda first debuted in Buenos Aires in 1995. The show dissolves the barriers between audience members and performers and uses a variety of sights and sounds to flood the senses. It debuted at the Daryl Roth Theatre--a converted bank--on June 16, 1998.

This is not the first time the show has announced a closing date. It was scheduled to close on May 4, 2003, but due to a surge in ticket sales, it continued to run.
The show celebrates its final summer with a bevy of special events, most notably its DJ Connection every Saturday at 10pm, beginning July 10 and DJ Connection Special Edition: Boys' Night events the next one is on July 8 at 8pm. De La Guarda's DJ Connection summer event debuted in 2002 and has featured DJs such as Manny Lehman, Derrick May, Tony Moran, Dave Ralph, Peter Rauhofer, Junior Sanchez, The Scumfrog, John Selway, Larry Tee, Tiga, Satoshi Tomiie and Josh Wink.
