Terra C. MacLeod, who has starred in the French production of Chicago in both Paris and Montreal, is coming to Broadway. She will begin performances as merry murderess Velma Kelly on, July 27. MacLeod is taking over for Brenda Braxton, who is rejoining the road company.
MacLeod is the recipient of Canada's 2003 Jessie Richardson Award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Anita in West Side Story. Her other theatrical credits include Damn Yankees, A Chorus Line, My Fair Lady, She Loves Me and Hotel Porter. MacLeod appeared on the big screen in The Lizzie McGuire Movie.
Chicago currently stars Paige Davis, Braxton, Christopher Sieber, P.J. Benjamin, Roz Ryan and D. Sabella. Davis is scheduled to remain through August 8. Sieber will depart August 1 with Marti Pellow taking over as Billy Flynn two days later. Wayne Brady will then play the slick lawyer from September 9 two days later than first announced through November 28.
