Emma Fielding will star as Lady Macbeth opposite the previously announced Simon Russell Beale when Macbeth plays the Almeida Theatre in January.
Fiedling won a Theatre World Award for her performance in the 2002 revival Private Lives, which transferred to Broadway after a run in the West End. Her previous Almeida credits include Heartbreak House, 1953 and The School for Wives. She was nominated for an Olivier Award for her supporting turn in the Royal Shakespeare Company mounting of School for Scandal and won the London Critics' Circle Award for Most Promising Newcomer for her work in the 1993 Royal National Theatre premiere of Arcadia.
William Shakespeare's Macbeth, directed by John Caird, is scheduled to run at the Almeida from January 13 through March 5.
