The Manhattan Theatre Club/Second Stage co-production of Craig Lucas' Reckless will get underway a day later than expected. The production will now begin performances on September 23. The change was made as a result of an alteration to the rehearsal schedule so that star Mary-Louise Parker, who is nominated for an Emmy Award for her work in Angels in America, can attend the Emmy Awards ceremony on September 19.
Reckless centers on Rachel Parker, a runaway wife, needs to dodge a murderous husband Tom Sadoski, numerous psychiatrists Debra Monk and an assortment of shady characters in a bizarre and sometimes nightmarish journey.
In addition to the cast members mentioned above, Reckless, directed by Mark Brokaw, will also feature Olga Merediz, Michael O'Keefe, Rosie Perez and Jeremy Shamos. The play is still scheduled to officially open on October 14.
