Antoinette LaVecchia, Ellen McLaughlin, Mary Testa and Sharon Washington are set to star in the Primary Stages production of Michele Lowe's String of Pearls. The play will begin performances at 59E59 Theater on September 15 in preparation for a September 28 opening.
Inspired by interviews with over 200 people, String of Pearls tells of a fated necklace that changes the lives of over two dozen characters Their stories twist and turn through a myriad of emotional turmoil as the necklace touches the lives of all who come in contact with it.
LaVecchia has appeared off-Broadway in Kimberly Akimbo and Magic Hands Freddy. McLaughlin is best known for her work in the two Angels in America plays, in which she played various roles, most notably the Angel. Testa has earned Tony nominations for her work in On the Town and 42nd Street. Washington's off-Broadway credits include Coriolanus, The Tragedy of Richard III, The Radical Mystique, House and Garden.
String of Pearls, directed by Eric Simonson, is scheduled to run through October 24.
