Lopez earned a 1980 Best Featured Actress in a Musical Tony Award for her performance in A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine. She also earned a Tony nomination in 1976 for A Chorus Line. Her other Broadway credits include Henry, Sweet Henry, Company, Her First Roman, Pippin, Lysistrata, Nine and Anna in the Tropics. Lopez's most recent off-Broadway credits are The Passion of Frida Kahlo, Newyorkers and Class Mothers '68.
The production, directed by David Esbjornson, began performances on August 21 and played on August 22. The show then went on hiatus to accommodate Gillette's tragedy. Marylouise Burke, Carlin Glynn, Katherine Helmond and Joyce Van Patten are also featured in the production.
