Shuman has appeared on Broadway in 13 Rue de L'Amour. His other Gotham stage credits include Hot L Baltimore, Moonchildren and Angel of Warsaw. In La Cage, he will play Francis, the accident-prone stage manager of the club.
Williamson, who will play restaurant owner Jacqueline, has appeared on Broadway in Smile, Guys and Dolls, Little Me, Epic Proportions and The Music Man. Her off Broadway credits include The Green Heart Drama Desk nomination, The English Teachers, Queen Amarantha, The Good Times Are Killing Me, The Leonard Bernstein Revue and the Encores! staging of DuBarry Was a Lady.
Jerry Herman and Harvey Fierstein's La Cage aux Folles, directed by Jerry Zaks and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, is scheduled to begin previews at the Marquis Theatre on November 10 in preparation for a December 9 opening. In addition to those cast members mentioned above, the company will include Adrian Bailey, Bryan Batt, Paul Canaan, Joey Dudding, Merwin Foard, Christopher Freeman, Patty Goble, Dale Hensley, John Hillner, Leah Horowitz, Clark Johnsen, Brad Musgrove, Eric Otte, Nathan Peck, Andy Pellick, T. Oliver Reid, Jermaine Rembert, Dorothy Stanley, Charlie Sutton, Will Taylor, Josh Walden and Emma Zaks.
