In addition to being an Oscar-nominated film star, Fiennes is also an accomplished stage actor. He won a Tony Award for his lead role in Hamlet in 1995. Fiennes was last seen on the Gotham stage during the 2000-2001 season, when he starred in Richard II and Coriolanus at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Last season, Fiennes returned to the stage as famed psychoanalyst Carl Gustav Jung in Christopher Hampton's The Talking Cure at the National Theatre and the star of Henrik Ibsen's Brand in the West End. He will star in a production of The Faith Healer in Ireland next season that is said to be eyeing a spring Broadway run.
After the Barbican, Julius Caeser will head to Théâtre National de Chaillot, Paris, Teatro Espanõl, Madrid and Grand Théâtre de la Ville, Luxembourg, which, with BITE: 05, Barbican are co-producers of the project.
