Good Vibrations Delays Opening Night to February 2

Good Vibrations, the Beach Boys musical currently in previews at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, has pushed back its opening date. The show, which had previously announced a January 27 bow, will now officially open on February 2 to "allow more time for rehearsals during preview performances," according to a production statement.

Good Vibrations follows the romantic misadventures of a group of small-town teenagers on a life-changing odyssey to the promised land: the beaches of Southern California. The tuner features music by Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys and a book by Richard Dresser. Good Vibrations premiered at Vassar's Powerhouse Theater last summer and has been in previews since December 20.

Good Vibrations is directed and choreographed by John Carrafa, who is making his Broadway directorial debut with the piece. As previously reported, director David Warren has been brought in to work on the piece.

This is the second delay for the tuner. Before previews began the show shifted its opening from January 13 to January 27.
