Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy, starring Corey Feldman, will run at the East 13th Street Theatre usually home to Classic Stage Company from June 30 through August 27. Writers Alana McNair and Kate Wilkinson will costar in the play, which satirizes the well-known 1987 big screen hit Fatal Attraction.
A 70-minute adaptation, Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy centers on a big-time corporate lawyer Feldman who has a one-night-stand with a business woman McNair while his wife Wilkinson is away. When his fling won't go away, the hero's bunny bites it and his bathtub serves as the setting for a final unforgettable showdown.
A child star, Feldman often linked with another Corey, fellow actor Corey Haim rose to fame in the mid-1980s as part of such movies as Gremlins, The Goonies, Stand by Me, The Lost Boys, License to Drive, The ‘burbs and Dream a Little Dream. His subsequent film credits include Rock ‘n' Roll High School Forever, Meatballs 4, Blown Away, Loaded Weapon 1, Stepmonster, Last Resort, Dream a Little Dream 2, Voodoo, Evil Obsession, Bordello of Blood, South Beach Academy, Busted which he also directed, She's Too Tall, Storm Trooper, My Life as a Troll, Bikini Bandits and No Witness. He was featured on the first season of The Surreal Life, the reality series in which faded celebrities live together for a year. Feldman recently made headlines when he claimed, in an interview airing tonight on 20/20, that Michael Jackson showed him nude photos when he was in his early teens.
Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy, directed by Timothy Haskell, will officially open off-Broadway on July 7.
As we previously reported, before Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy opens at the East 13th Street Theatre, Feldman's Goonies costar Martha Plimpton will take to that same stage in Pierre Marivaux's The False Servant scheduled to run March 30 through May 8.
