D.W. Moffett Joins Cast of The Philadelphia Story at the Old Vic
Moffett has appeared on Broadway in The Real Thing, The Boys of Winter and Contact. His off-Broadway credits include The Normal Heart and The American Plan. His film credits include Thirteen, Traffic, Take Molly, Stealing Beauty, Rough Magic, Perfect Prey, Falling Down, Lisa and Black Widow. Last season, he was a regular on the short-lived television series Skin.
The Philadelphia Story centers on a pretentious socialite Ehle who is set to marry an equally pretentious executive Moffett when her ex-husband Spacey arrives and stirs things up.
The production, directed by Jerry Zaks, is scheduled to begin previews at the Old Vic on May 3 and officially open there on May 10. It is also aiming for a spring 2006 Broadway transfer.
In addition to the three stars, Oliver Cotton, Nicholas Le Prevost, Richard Lintern, Julia McKenzie, Damian Matthews, Talulah Riley and Lauren Ward will appear in the play.
