Rob Lowe to Star in Aaron Sorkin's A Few Good Men in the West End

Rob Lowe will star in a production of Aaron Sorkin's A Few Good Men in the West End, according to Variety. David Esbjornson will helm the 1989 courtroom drama, which will play at London's Theatre Royal Haymarket for a limited engagement.

Sorkin and Lowe notably worked together on TV's The West Wing. Lowe was the star of the popular Emmy award-winning series that Sorkin created and wrote. Lowe left the show in 2002. Known for his long career in films, Lowe made his Broadway debut in 1992 in A Little Hotel on the Side. The actor will play Lt. Daniel Kaffee in this production of A Few Good Men. Tom Hulce was Tony-nominated for playing the role on Broadway in 1989, and Tom Cruise memorably took on the same part in the 1992 film adaptation of the play.

A Few Good Men follows the story of lawyers assigned the case of defending two U.S. soldiers accused of murdering a fellow soldier. The play earned Sorkin a 1989 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding American Playwright.

The London production will run from August 18 through December 17. It will officially open on September 6.
