New Musical Behind the Iron Mask to Play the West End

The new musical Behind the Iron Mask, starring the Three Degrees' Sheila Ferguson and Robert Fardell, will be the next tenant at the Duchess Theatre in London. It is scheduled to begin previews there on July 20.

Behind the Iron Mask has music and lyrics by John Robinson and a book by Colin Scott and Melinda Walker. It tells the famous story of the Man in the Iron Mask, imprisoned for life, and his relationship with his jailer and a gypsy.

The Duchess' current tenant, The Birthday Party, will end its run on June 25. Behind the Iron Mask will officially open at the theater on August 2.
