Andrew Weems Replaces David Schramm in NYTW's Bach at Leipzig

Andrew Weems has joined the cast of the upcoming New York Theatre Workshop production of Itamar Moses' Bach at Leipzig. He replaces David Schramm, who left the piece due to scheduling conflicts, according to a production spokesperson.

Weems has appeared on Broadway in The Green Bird and London Assurance. His off-Broadway credits include Priness Turandot, The Dolphin Position, A Quarrel of Sparrows, The Green Bird and Cymbeline for which he received a Lucille Lortel Award nomination.

Inspired by actual events, Bach at Leipzig is set in Leipzig, Germany in1722. It centers on seven rival musicians who jump at the chance to fill the most sought-after musical post in Europe: organmaster at Leipzig. In addition to Weems, Jeffrey Carlson, Richard Easton, Michael Emerson and Reg Rogers star.

Bach at Lepizig, directed by Pam MacKinnon, is scheduled to begin off-Broadway performances on October 28.
