Based on the 1977 hit film of the same name, the stage Saturday Night Fever features classic disco tracks such as "Night Fever," "Disco Inferno" and "Stayin' Alive." The musical currently stars Adam Jon Fiorintino as Tony Manero, a streetwise kid from Brooklyn with a talent for disco dancing. Tony dreams of leaving his dead-end life behind and when he meets Stephanie Suzie Bastone his life starts to change. He dumps old companion, Annette Rachel Wooding and partners with Stephanie to win a disco dancing challenge. Nan Knighton adapted the story for the stage. Arlene Phillips directed and choreographed the production.
The show first ran in the West End at the London Palladium from April 1998 through February 2000. The show also had a stint on Broadway, which ran over a year--from October 1999 through December 2000. After an extensive U.K. tour, the musical returned to London, beginning performances at the Apollo Victoria on July 6, 2004.
